Color correction is an important part of any photograph, through which the photographer can strengthen the idea he has put into his work. By working with contrast, shadows, brightness, individual colors, etc.

With the help of color correction and the creation of a recognizable style, the photographer can stand out from the crowd and make competitive and captivating work.

Some of the factors that influence the perception of a photograph should be taken into consideration when taking them:

  • The lighting scheme, namely the direction of the light, the softness/sharpness of the light and shadow transitions. For example, sunset light gives soft light and shadow transitions, while daylight gives outlined and obvious ones.
  • The harmony of the colors present in the photos: how well they match, both in hue and in color saturation

1 LESSON. Lightroom color correction tools and how they work.

  2. the Tone Curve;

  4. Separate toning;
  5. Calibration.

2 LESSON. Photoshop color correction tools.

  1. CAMERA RAW and curves;
  2. Color balance and selective color correction;
  3. Gradient Map;
  4. Color correction in the CMYK color space.

LESSON 3. Applying color correction tools in practice, “Reading” color correction.

  1. “Reading” Color Correction. Basic parameters that affect the hue of a photograph;
  2. Choosing the right Color Temperature. Creating pure colors in your photo;
  3. How to repeat color correction from references; 4;
  4. toning a black and white photograph;
  5. Ways to give your skin a bronzed tan hue;
  6. Tips for color correction of photos.

In the training I consider color correction in Lightroom and Photoshop for PC. The course is also suitable for mobile Lightroom users, as the smartphone duplicates all the features of the PC version. After mastering the basic skill, which I’ve broken down to the simplest algorithms – namely “reading” color correction of photos, you will be able to process a photo in the desired style even in the standard Iphone editor.
